Individual Therapy
Life can sometimes feel overwhelming, confusing, or emotionally heavy. You may be carrying pain from the past, struggling with anxiety, feeling stuck in unhealthy patterns, navigating a difficult relationship, or simply longing to understand yourself better.
Individual therapy offers a confidential and compassionate space where you can slow down, reflect, heal, and receive professional support for the areas of life that feel difficult to carry alone. Our approach is warm, evidence-informed, trauma-informed, attachment-based, and faith-sensitive where requested.
Who Individual Therapy Is For
Individual therapy is for adults who want support in understanding themselves, managing emotional challenges, healing from painful experiences, and building healthier patterns. It may be helpful for individuals who:
Feel anxious, overwhelmed, or emotionally drained
Struggle with low self-worth or self-doubt
Feel stuck in repeated relationship patterns
Are healing from betrayal, heartbreak, separation, or divorce
Want to understand attachment wounds or emotional triggers
Are navigating grief, transition, stress, or burnout
Have difficulty setting boundaries
Want faith-sensitive support alongside professional therapy
You do not need to wait until things are falling apart to seek therapy. Sometimes therapy is the place where you pause, reflect, and begin making intentional changes before life becomes too heavy.

What Happens in Individual Therapy
Individual therapy begins with understanding your story, your current concerns, and what you hope will change. The pace of therapy is guided by your needs, readiness, and goals — you will not be rushed into discussing things before you feel safe enough to begin. The process may include:
A confidential intake session
Exploring your personal, family, and relationship history
Identifying emotional patterns and triggers
Processing difficult experiences at a safe pace
Learning practical coping and grounding skills
Developing healthier boundaries
Strengthening self-worth and self-compassion
Practising tools between sessions through reflection exercises
Our Approach
As a Marriage and Family Therapy practice, we understand that personal struggles do not happen in isolation. Your relationships, upbringing, family patterns, culture, values, and environment all shape how you think, feel, relate, and make decisions. Our work draws from:
Attachment-based therapy
Family systems therapy
Trauma-informed care
Cognitive and behavioral tools
Emotional regulation skills
Faith-sensitive support where requested
Expected Outcomes
Therapy does not promise instant answers or a perfect life, but it can help you develop greater clarity, emotional strength, and healthier ways of living. Individual therapy may help you:
Understand yourself more deeply
Manage anxiety, stress, and emotional overwhelm
Build healthier boundaries
Heal from past relational wounds
Make clearer decisions
Grow in confidence, purpose, and emotional maturity
Session Length
Individual therapy sessions are usually 50–60 minutes. Some clients may benefit from longer sessions depending on the concern, emotional intensity, or therapeutic goals.
Some clients attend weekly sessions at the beginning, while others may attend fortnightly or as needed, depending on their goals and progress. The recommended session plan will be discussed after the first appointment.
